A set of questions to get children thinking about everyday materials. They are suitable for any age and create in-depth conversations about materials. They can be used as a starter to a topic, a hook, a conclusion piece or plenary. Your lesson will not be the same without them!

This is a powerpoint that was delivered to cover the topic of pets! It has a range of discussion activities and a whole-class sorting activity. It even has a section on strange looking animals- what could they be?

LO: To find out how solid shapes can be changed. Using the hook of a pirate ship, children aim to build their own but what material should they use? Children fill in the differentiated worksheet to find out which material they should use for their very own pirate ship.

These worksheets are used to support the observation of objects sinking or floating. Simply have a bowl of water and some objects handy and then see if they sink or float. These worksheets promote scientific thinking, including prediction, observation and comparative testing! All in one lesson! This was extremely popular with my class!
